Building on 27 years in the education technology industry, and another decade in teaching, I now share my passion for technology by helping seniors.
Technology can be confusing and frustrating. I've seen first hand how challenging it can be for seniors to keep up. I can help you use what you already own more effectively, or choose something more suited to your needs. I'll give each of you the time, patience and expertise you deserve.
I am a veteran of 27 years as a technology support specialist, teacher trainer, and manager of technology support for a variety of educational technology companies, most recently with McGraw Hill Education, a leader in educational technology innovation. (www.linkedin.com/in/bill-regan) I also have nearly 10 years of experience as a classroom teacher and computer coordinator in the Lake Washington School District. This extensive background in technology and education makes me uniquely qualified to be your trusted technology consultant. I will provide you with patient expert service and training on the technology in your home and advocate on your behalf with technology providers such as internet, cable, and phone services.
In addition to my professional experience, I have been providing tech support for family members and friends for decades, gaining experience with new technologies, adaptive devices, and accessibility features as family members have aged. However, I have also watched as elderly family members were offered substandard technology service or been taken advantage of by unscrupulous businesses that failed to take the time to truly understand their technology needs. Recognizing that there is a growing population of people that may not have someone they can trust to help them with technology is what inspired me to start Elder Tech Services. Although a tech-savvy grandchild may be able to fix an occasional issue, I believe seniors need someone to actually show them how to use technology.
My services are customized for each client, beginning with an in-home consultation to learn what you would like to achieve or resolve. From this consultation, a plan of action or personalized class is designed and scheduled to take place inside your home or place of residence. Service on hardware is billed with a minimum of one hour and training is conducted in one-hour sessions to make learning information more manageable.
If you don't feel that your problem has been solved or your questions adequately answered, and you inform me within five days of my work with you, I will refund all hourly fees directly related to the specific work in question.
I have had some technical work done by Elder Tech Services and have been extremely satisfied with the expertise and professional responsibility of Bill Regan. His business acumen and his comfortable people skills make for an easy, reliable and dependable working visit for all concerned.
Since I had some glitches on my computer and also a printer to get hooked up, I called Bill, figuring he would see me next week or next month, but no, I got an appointment for the following day! Let me tell you, I was so thrilled, Bill set up my printer, answered a number of questions, fixed the glitches on my apartment and was out of my apartment in less than an hour! I was so jumping with joy! It is wonderful to have this service at my fingertips. Thank you Bill.
I’ve engaged Bill and Elder Tech to get me current with downloads and upgrade my software. I highly recommend him for anyone, like me, who, while not computer illiterate, needs technical help on most matters to stay current. You’ll find him easy to work while understanding your needs.
